| Swank Puzzle Book,2007, Old found briefcase, current Swank magazine, thread, nails, board and paint, 15.5”x11”x3"
The process of making this piece involved deconstruction and construction in similar directions. The pages of the magazine were ripped into strips, methodically rolled and bound. They remain in their original sequence. The materials, the process and the outcome reference the body literally and suggestively. Images of the body are exploited, torn, tied and transformed. Content continues to behave as an object to look at and to stimulate the imagination. The brief case continues to contain and transport private articles. I envision a future for this piece in which a time lapse video is made of someone putting the magazine back together.

Virginal Apparitions I & II, 2007, etchings, silk and linen thread, blood, and scented oils on fabric, installation dimensions variable
A peek at the private side of Mary, the Mother of God, through her intimate objects. This work concentrates on the duality of punishment and pleasure and how they are perpetually tied to the feminine. Popular iconography such as the immaculate heart, vesica pisci, and mandorla of Mary are often crude and stylized. In this representation these icons return to their vulgar and decorative nature.
